DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently
- Handle all cash, credit, and mobile transactions with precision
- Receive payments and issue receipts, refunds, or change as required
- Assist customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift
- Reconcile sales with receipts and report any discrepancies to management
- Maintain cleanliness and order at the checkout area
- Support the sales team with other duties as needed, including restocking shelves
- Adhere to all company policies and cash-handling procedures
- Report any suspicious activity or potential fraud immediately
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field
- Proven work experience as a cashier in a retail or supermarket setting
- Proficiency in operating POS systems and other basic accounting tools
- Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel and POS software
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of honesty, reliability, and professionalism
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as required
