DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Export Strategy Development & Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive export strategies aimed at expanding the company’s presence in international dairy and beverage markets.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities in target regions.
  • Set clear export sales targets, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader commercial objectives.
  • Continuously review and adjust export plans based on market performance, competitor activities, and changing trade environments.

Market Expansion & Business Development

  • Identify and qualify new export markets and distribution channels to increase international sales footprint.
  • Source and establish partnerships with distributors, importers, and key trade agents that align with the company’s brand values and growth ambitions.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable credit terms, and compliance with export laws.
  • Represent the company at international trade shows, expos, and industry forums to promote products and build global networks.

Brand Positioning & Marketing for Export Markets

  • Lead export marketing efforts by designing targeted campaigns that effectively communicate the brand’s value proposition to diverse cultural audiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to customize packaging, messaging, and promotional materials that meet local market regulations and consumer expectations.
  • Utilize digital media platforms and advertising channels to enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement internationally.
  • Monitor competitor marketing activities and adjust promotional strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

 

New Product Development & Customization

  • Partner with R&D and product development teams to adapt existing products or develop new offerings tailored to the taste, regulatory, and quality standards of export markets.
  • Use market intelligence and customer insights to drive innovation that enhances the company’s product portfolio in overseas markets.
  • Ensure timely launch of new products in export territories, coordinating all marketing and logistical activities.

Export Operations & Compliance Management

  • Oversee export logistics including order processing, documentation, customs clearance, and shipment to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local and international export regulations, including food safety standards, quality certifications, and trade compliance.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to manage risks and resolve any export-related issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate export documentation and records in compliance with legal and corporate standards.

Financial Oversight & Performance Reporting

  • Manage export budgets, sales forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize profitability and resource allocation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as export revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed export performance reports and present insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing export team, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, supply chain, and product development departments to ensure cohesive execution of export plans.
  • Foster a results-driven culture that emphasizes innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Commerce, Business Administration (Marketing option), International Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in export markets management, preferably within a busy FMCG environment
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful export strategies and managing international client relationships
  • Strong understanding of export regulations, international trade compliance, and logistics
  • Demonstrated ability in brand positioning, marketing strategy, digital media, advertising, and promotions in export markets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM and export management software is an advantage
