DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term sales and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, product development needs, and growth areas.
  • Lead brand positioning and promotional campaigns to increase product visibility and

competitiveness.

  • Prepare and oversee budgets for sales and marketing functions.
  • Manage both retail and projects.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Directly manage the decorative sales team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Build a high-performing, target-driven team culture focused on results and accountability.
  • Oversee training programs to improve product knowledge, negotiation, and selling skills.
  • Set the pace and lead from the front by actively engaging customers, deal closures and major account management.
  • Develop and implement aggressive growth strategies to expand market share.
  • Inspire, motivate and guide the team through example and consistently achieving targets while lifting team performance.
  • Support the sales team in closing deals.
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction

Customer & Market Development

  • Strengthen relationships with distributors/dealers, developers, project managers/contractors, interior designers and architects.
  • Develop loyalty programs and initiatives to drive customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.

Marketing Execution & Brand Management

  • Supervise the creation and rollout of marketing materials, promotions, product launches, and trade events.
  • Manage digital marketing, social media presence, and advertising campaigns to support brand objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide pricing, positioning, and marketing strategies.

Sales Operations & Performance Management

  • Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and territory performance.
  • Oversee pricing, quotations, tenders, and credit control compliance.
  • Analyse sales reports and provide actionable insights to executive management.
  • Timely collection and monitoring of receivables.
  • To maintain DSO by constant review and ensuring strong mechanisms for payment collection in order to ensure that it is within the acceptable norms.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing, Architecture or related field. MBA is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive sales and marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the paint, FMCG, or building materials industry
  • Proven experience managing large sales teams and multi-channel distribution networks
  • Demonstrated ability to grow market share and implement marketing strategies
  • Valid Kenyan driving license and willingness to travel regionally
