DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems across the hospital.
- Ensure the hospital’s network infrastructure, including servers, computers, printers, and telecommunication systems, are functioning optimally.
- Conduct regular checks and maintenance of IT systems to prevent downtime and technical issues.
System Security and Data Protection:
- Implement and maintain robust security protocols to safeguard the hospital’s IT systems, data, and patient information.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve any system or network security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health regulations, including data privacy laws and HIPAA.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and training to hospital staff, ensuring they are proficient in using the hospital’s IT systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
- Coordinate with external vendors for technical support when needed.
Software and Hardware Management:
- Ensure that hospital management software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and other specialized applications are running efficiently.
- Manage inventory of IT equipment, ensuring the procurement and proper disposal of obsolete equipment.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, ensuring they are aligned with the hospital's needs.
Network Management:
- Oversee the hospital’s internal and external network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity for all systems and departments.
- Manage and troubleshoot wireless and wired networks, ensuring that the hospital’s Wi-Fi system is stable and secure.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments to assess their IT needs and provide appropriate technological solutions.
- Participate in meetings and collaborate with the hospital management to align IT strategies with the hospital's objectives.
IT Project Management:
- Coordinate and manage IT-related projects, including system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and software implementation.
- Ensure all IT projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting the hospital's operational requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of IT systems, incidents, and repairs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT performance, including system uptime, security issues, and resource utilization.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- At least 3 years of experience working in a similar capacity, preferably within a busy hospital or healthcare environment
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure management
- Familiarity with healthcare management software, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and assist staff in using IT systems effectively
