DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Initiation

  • Develop comprehensive project charters, scope statements, and work breakdown structures (WBS) aligned with organizational goals and client needs.
  • Define clear project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.

Execution & Delivery Management

  • Lead and coordinate project execution activities, ensuring teams deliver high-quality outputs that meet client expectations.
  • Monitor day-to-day progress and address any blockers or delays proactively to keep the project on schedule.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, vendors, and internal technical teams.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and ensure timely updates are provided to all stakeholders.
  • Translate technical concepts into client-friendly language and vice versa to ensure clarity and alignment.

Team Coordination

  • Work closely with software developers, system engineers, QA teams, and designers to align resources and priorities.
  • Ensure team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and deadlines within each project phase.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify potential project risks early, evaluate their impact, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage escalations and resolve issues efficiently to avoid disruption to project timelines.

 

 

Budget & Cost Control

  • Track project expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  • Provide cost estimates and updates to senior management or finance departments when required.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Use tools like Jira, Trello, or MS Project to track milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting KPIs, timelines, and overall project health.

Process Improvement & Methodology

  • Champion the use of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies to improve team performance and delivery speed.
  • Conduct post-project reviews (retrospectives) to capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including project plans, meeting notes, change logs, and sign-offs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and industry standards.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in an ICT environment
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is an added advantage
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certifications are a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project, Asana)
