DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Growth
- Drive lead generation, prospecting, and closing of new clients in alignment with annual business development (BD) targets.
- Identify new opportunities and partnerships to grow the MSB practice’s reach and impact.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of clients across multiple sectors.
- Support proposal development, pitch preparation, and commercial negotiations.
Executive & Ecosystem Engagement
- Represent the organization at key ecosystem events, networking forums, and stakeholder engagements.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Practice Lead, providing briefings, writing speeches, and preparing talking points.
- Coordinate strategic outreach to partners, donors, and clients to position the MSB practice as a thought leader in the entrepreneurship space.
Client & Program Delivery Support
- Support implementation of client-facing programs and ensure timely follow-ups and quality assurance.
- Track program outcomes and impact metrics, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment across BD, delivery, and communications.
Research & Strategic Insight
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and ecosystem mapping to inform strategic decisions.
- Prepare strategic memos, reports, and insight briefs to inform internal planning and external engagements.
- Support data-driven storytelling and knowledge sharing across teams.
Internal Strategic & Operational Support
- Provide high-level executive support to the Practice Lead, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and strategic follow-ups.
- Help prepare internal presentations, track goals and KPIs, and facilitate quarterly reviews.
- Ensure high levels of professionalism, discretion, and coordination in executive-level interactions.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Business, Strategy, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree or certifications are a strong plus).
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in strategy development, consulting, business advisory, or entrepreneurship programs.
- Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition, and relationship management.
- Strong communication capabilities: speech writing, presentations, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Deep understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Kenya/East Africa.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Confident in representing the organization at external forums and with senior stakeholders.
