DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations Support:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company.
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage and oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process invoices, follow up on overdue payments, and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Payroll Processing:
- Administer and process monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with company policies and local labor laws.
- Prepare payroll reports and ensure the timely payment of employees and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NSSF, SHIF).
Tax Compliance (iTax):
- Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns (e.g., PAYE, VAT) via iTax.
- Ensure the company complies with all tax regulations and maintains accurate records for audit purposes.
QuickBooks Management:
- Use QuickBooks to manage company finances, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and generating financial reports.
- Regularly update and maintain the QuickBooks system to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
Other Duties:
- Prepare financial reports for management review.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support in external audits and internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Provide ad-hoc financial support and reports as needed by the finance department.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- At least CPA Section II (Certified Public Accountant) qualification
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a busy company
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance
