DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PAYE, VAT, SHIF, NSSF, and timely filing on iTax.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Monitor and manage company budgets and assist with forecasting.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
  • Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and information.
  • Advise management on cost control, financial planning, and policy development.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification is a strong advantage
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas)
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance procedures
