DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PAYE, VAT, SHIF, NSSF, and timely filing on iTax.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Monitor and manage company budgets and assist with forecasting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
- Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- Support audits by providing required documentation and information.
- Advise management on cost control, financial planning, and policy development.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification is a strong advantage
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent)
- Advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and formulas)
- Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance procedures
