DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Management:
- Assist in overseeing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor the production process and address any delays or challenges.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure product quality and consistency.
Quality Control:
- Support the implementation of quality control procedures to meet export standards.
- Review and inspect products to ensure they comply with industry regulations and
client specifications.
- Assist in resolving any quality-related issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.
People management:
- Assist in scheduling production employees to minimize overtime while maximizing
output.
- Support in setting departmental objectives and KPIs, and follow up on regular reviews to assess ongoing performance.
- Help manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets agreed-upon
objectives, delivers best practice results, adds value, and drives continuous improvement.
Logistics & Export Coordination:
- Coordinate with stores teams to ensure efficient handling and transportation of
goods.
- Assist with the preparation and documentation for exports, including customs
clearance, shipping schedules, and invoicing.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to clients.
- Assist to manage Transporters and their drivers.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure a sufficient supply of raw materials and finished
goods.
- Help manage stock levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing inventory
control procedures.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries of required materials.
Team Collaboration:
- Support the General Manager and Operations Manager in managing a team of
production staff, Stores workers and any other employee.
- Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members as needed.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of operations activities, including production output,
inventory, and shipping details.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, highlighting any
areas of concern.
- Assist in analyzing operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure that all operations adhere to safety standards and company policies.
- Help enforce health and safety guidelines in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations regarding plastic
manufacturing and exports.
Others:
- Assist in maintaining all Production & store records on SAP.
- Work with the Nairobi Sales team to ensure timely invoicing of customers.
- Ensure all statutory licenses and audits are completed in time for Mombasa
operations
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 2-3 years of experience in operations, preferably in the manufacturing or export processing industry. Experience in plastics or export-related operations is a plus.
- Financial Data analysis using Excel and similar software.
- Knowledge of SAP or any similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of stock control and reconciliation.
- Budget Control and Cost Optimisation.
- Experience in Change management.
- Added advantage, having worked in manufacturing.
