DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Growth & Opportunity Development

  • Proactively identify and research new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, clients, partnerships, products, and services.
  • Generate leads and convert them into profitable business through presentations, meetings, and proposals.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing queries, concerns, and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular client visits to assess satisfaction and identify additional service needs.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Plan and execute regional sales activities, campaigns, and promotional strategies to increase brand visibility and market share.
  • Analyze customer profiles and logistics needs to provide customized solutions and tailored proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to close high-value deals while ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide regular feedback to senior management on market developments, risks, and opportunities.
  • Recommend service improvements or innovations based on market research and customer feedback.

Collaboration with Operations & Service Teams

  • Liaise closely with the operations, warehousing, and CFS teams to ensure client requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
  • Follow up on service delivery to ensure timelines, documentation, and logistics commitments are met.
  • Support the resolution of operational challenges or complaints raised by clients.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, opportunities, and client interactions using CRM systems.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, pipeline status, and forecasts for management review.
  • Assist in budgeting and revenue forecasting activities related to the assigned region.

Networking & Brand Promotion

  • Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, industry forums, and conferences.
  • Promote the organization’s services and value proposition to prospective clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop partnerships with industry associations, freight forwarders, and other potential collaborators.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Certification in Catering, Food Handling, or a related field
  • Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Logistics, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in Sales & Marketing in a busy logistics environment
  • Experience working in a logistics company (warehousing, clearing & forwarding, or CFS operations)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of the logistics industry and client pain points
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
