DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure meals are served on time and in proper portions.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Manage food supplies and kitchen inventory, ensuring minimal waste.
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times.
- Clean assigned rooms, offices, or areas including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and
waste disposal.
- Change and launder linens, towels, and other items as required.
- Restock toiletries, cleaning supplies, and kitchen items as needed.
- Assist with laundry duties and ensure proper handling and storage of linen.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth operations in kitchen and
housekeeping areas.
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules, including deep cleaning tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including OSHA guidelines.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Valid Kenyan driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum KCSE certificate or equivalent
- Certificate or training in Food Preparation or Housekeeping is an added advantage
- At least 1–2 years of experience in cooking and/or housekeeping roles
- Ability to follow recipes and work within dietary restrictions
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Physically fit and able to perform cleaning and kitchen tasks
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity, cleanliness, and professionalism
