DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Learning:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities in line with the ECD curriculum.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage children and support their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
Assessment & Reporting:
- Assess the developmental progress of each child through observation and formative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s learning achievements and behavior.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about the child's progress.
Classroom Management:
- Establish clear and consistent classroom rules and routines.
- Address children’s behavioral needs in a positive, nurturing, and professional manner.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with other teaching staff to implement the school’s educational philosophy and initiatives.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
Child-Centered Approach:
- Encourage creativity, independence, and curiosity in young children.
- Promote physical, emotional, and social well-being through fun, interactive, and engaging activities.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECD)
- At least 1 year of experience working as an ECD teacher in a formal educational setting
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
