JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Farm & Events Garden Manager to oversee the development, maintenance, and commercialization of a nature-based events garden. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, enhancing the garden experience, improving infrastructure, ensuring security, and turning the property into a profitable events and nature retreat space.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grounds & Infrastructure Maintenance
- Maintain and improve the entire events garden landscape, ensuring it remains clean, weed-free, well-watered, and mowed regularly.
- Prune and organize the forested area to make it suitable for nature trails and private retreat events.
- Oversee sealing of any gaps in the perimeter security fence and prevent any intrusions.
- Manage and supervise construction and upkeep of essential infrastructure, including:
- Toilets for guests
- Main entrance gate
- Servants’ quarters
Horticultural Development
- Establish and maintain a flower and fruit nursery to enhance aesthetics and support guided nature walks and educational trails.
- Support biodiversity and sustainable gardening practices.
Marketing & Revenue Generation
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract clients for garden hiring (events, picnics, photo shoots, retreats, etc.).
- Build customer relationships and handle client inquiries, bookings, and site visits.
- Develop pricing models and promotional packages to increase garden usage and visibility.
Administrative & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Garden maintenance activities
- Infrastructure improvements
- Bookings and income
- Produce and manage an annual budget for garden operations, infrastructure development, and promotional activities.
- Prepare monthly reports on revenue, expenses, customer feedback, and garden condition.
Operations & SOPs
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily garden operations, maintenance routines, staff duties, and event management.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Landscaping, or related field.
- Proven experience in farm or garden management, landscaping, or events venue operations
- Strong organizational, communication, and budgeting skills
- Ability to supervise construction and maintenance teams
- Sales or marketing experience is an added advantage
- Proficient in record-keeping and basic computer use
