DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and assist customers professionally.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable construction tools and materials.
  • Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly.
  • Operate the cashier system efficiently, handling cash, mobile payments, and POS transactions.
  • Issue receipts, process returns, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ensure proper balancing of the cash register at the end of each shift.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low inventory or discrepancies.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing hardware materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store layout to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, tools, and hardware products.
  • Provide technical advice and demonstrations to customers where necessary.
  • Assist in training junior staff or new team members on product knowledge.
  • Maintain daily sales records and generate reports for management.
  • Use basic computer applications for inventory management, invoicing, and communication.
  • Assist management in preparing periodic sales and performance reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow safety protocols in handling tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Promote a safe working environment for staff and customers.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree or Diploma in any field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a construction hardware environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction tools, materials, and hardware products.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, POS systems, inventory software)
