DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resource Operations & Administration
- Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures in line with organizational objectives and Kenyan labor laws.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS and ensure data confidentiality.
- Manage employee contracts, confirmations, renewals, promotions, transfers, and exits.
- Oversee payroll inputs, benefits administration, leave management, and statutory compliance.
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including workforce planning, job postings, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding.
- Support department heads in identifying staffing needs and succession planning.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and induction of new employees.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Act as a key point of contact for employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Guide and support supervisors and managers on performance management processes.
- Coordinate performance appraisals and ensure timely evaluations.
- Promote a positive work environment and resolve conflicts fairly and professionally.
Training & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.
- Support implementation of employee development and capacity-building initiatives.
- Monitor training effectiveness and maintain training records.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Prepare HR reports, audits, and documentation as required by management or regulatory bodies.
- Support implementation of health, safety, and welfare programs.
HR Leadership & Advisory
- Provide HR guidance and support to management and staff.
- Supervise junior HR staff or interns where applicable.
- Contribute to strategic HR planning and organizational development initiatives.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong working knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Experience working with HRIS systems and payroll processes.
