DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement annual and quarterly market strategies for Somalia, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct thorough market research, competitor analysis, and consumer behavior studies to inform actionable strategies.

Media & Partner Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with local Somali media outlets, influencers, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and strategic partners.
  • Leverage local networks to maximize brand visibility and engagement.

Marketing & Brand Promotion:

  • Plan and execute localized marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, public relations, and events.
  • Coordinate with creative and sales teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with the company’s global brand guidelines and business objectives.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and promotional activities, providing detailed reports and recommendations for continuous optimization.
  • Share insights on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive developments with cross-functional teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, product, and operations teams to ensure that market strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with broader company goals.
  • Support product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional activities tailored for the Somali market.

 

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Somali and English
  • Proven experience working in the Somalia market, with deep understanding of local business practices, regulations, and consumer behaviour
  • Strong understanding of the Somali media ecosystem and established networks with media, KOLs, and partners
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute marketing campaigns that drive tangible results
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently, with strong self-motivation and organizational skills
  • Cross-cultural communication skills and experience collaborating with regional and global teams
  • Kenyan Somalis encouraged to apply
