DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement & Supplier Management:

  • Source, evaluate, and engage reliable suppliers for hardware and construction materials.
  • Request and analyze quotations, negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery timelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure continuity of supply and favorable terms.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
  • Monitor market trends and material availability to ensure cost-effectiveness and minimal supply disruptions.

Inventory & Store Management:

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with project teams to forecast material needs.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, purchases, and supplier information.
  • Conduct regular stock reconciliations and flag inconsistencies or discrepancies.
  • Minimize stock wastage, theft, and pilferage by enforcing proper store procedures and controls.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices.
  • Track procurement expenses and prepare regular procurement reports for management.
  • Maintain organized procurement and inventory files for audits and compliance checks.

 

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with the finance and project teams to ensure budget alignment.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify areas for process and cost optimization.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree or Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement or store management, preferably in a hardware/construction environment
  • Knowledge of construction materials and hardware products is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of inventory or ERP systems is an added advantage
