DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate ledger management and timely financial data entry
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing the company’s annual budget and forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to department heads
- Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions
Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies
- Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, etc.)
- Coordinate internal and external audits and prepare audit schedules and reports
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Supervise AP and AR functions, ensuring timely billing, collections, and payments
- Review supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor customer account balances and manage credit control processes
Payroll and Staff Costs
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure statutory deductions and remittances are accurately handled
- Reconcile payroll accounts and maintain related records
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Support junior accounting staff through training and supervision
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial procedures and controls
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Must be a CPA K finalist
- Minimum 5-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a busy real estate
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems
- Excellent knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and regulatory frameworks
- High attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
