DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, motivate, and mentor a team of drivers and other logistics personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage team schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Address and resolve team conflicts and performance issues.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Utilize route planning software and tools effectively.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle maintenance schedules and safety inspections.
- Monitor vehicle performance and identify potential issues.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety training for team members.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including sales, customer service, and warehouse teams.
- Provide regular updates on delivery status and any potential delays.
- Prepare and submit reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery rates, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Identify and resolve logistics challenges and issues.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Driver Supervisor, Logistics Route Supervisor, or in a similar logistics leadership role
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles and best practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Proficient in route planning software and tools
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and management
