BARISTA/CASHIER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers promptly and courteously, creating a positive first impression.
• Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor while interacting with customers.
• Engage with customers to create a personalized and memorable experience.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and standards.
• Ensure all beverages are served at the correct temperature and consistency.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and the art of latte art.
• Maintain a clean and organized barista station, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and maintained as per safety and hygiene standards.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer orders accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, and issuing receipts.
• Ensure that all transactions are processed in a timely manner and that customers receive the correct change.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any customer concerns or questions regarding their orders.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, pastries, and other products are maintained.
• Report low stock levels to the management team and help with the reordering process.
• Ensure proper storage of supplies and that ingredients are stored according to safety and hygiene standards.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Help train and mentor new staff, sharing knowledge and experience regarding coffee preparation and customer service standards.
• Assist with opening and closing the shop as required, ensuring all tasks are completed before leaving the premises.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Barista certification required
• At least 2 years of experience working as a barista and cashier
• Proficient in using the Point of Sale (POS) system
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Excellent etiquette and a professional appearance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
