DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Medication Dispensing:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications to patients based on prescriptions.
- Verify prescription details and ensure that medications are correctly labeled.
- Provide information to patients regarding proper medication usage and potential side effects.
Medication Management:
- Assist in managing inventory and ensuring that all medications are stocked and readily available.
- Monitor medication expiration dates and alert the pharmacy supervisor for any necessary actions.
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications, stock levels, and returned items.
Customer Service:
- Offer exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and providing information about over-the-counter medications.
- Educate patients on proper medication use and provide guidance on pharmaceutical-related issues.
Data Entry and Documentation:
- Accurately input patient information, prescriptions, and medication details into the pharmacy management system.
- Ensure that all patient records are maintained confidentially and in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Assist in daily tasks and be available for various ad-hoc duties as directed by the pharmacy supervisor or pharmacist.
Compliance:
- Adhere to all pharmaceutical regulations, guidelines, and standards to ensure compliance with local health laws and organizational policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in line with health and safety protocols.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience with medication dispensing and management is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients and healthcare professionals professionally
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and their uses
